Anime Studio is a watch face app for Android phones and Wear OS watches, made by Samridha Shrestha. It has no accounts, no ads and no server of its own. This page explains what the app handles, where it goes, and how to reach us.
The map lights up every place it can be. Anything not lit never gets there.
The faces you make (their scene, companion, layout, colors, fonts and settings), your sky settings (hemisphere, day and night hours and your own festival dates), which face is on your watch, whether you've unlocked the app, and any pictures you add. All of it lives in the app's private storage on your phone, and the faces you apply are also kept on your watch.
Anime Studio has no sign-up, no analytics or crash-reporting SDK of our own, and no advertising. We don't collect your name, email, contacts, location or anything that identifies you.
You can use your own pictures as a backdrop, a scene, a festival picture or a companion. You pick them with Android's photo picker, so the app only ever sees the photos you choose, and never your whole library. A copy is saved in the app's private storage.
To make a photo companion, the app cuts the subject out of your picture with Google's ML Kit subject segmentation. This runs on your phone: the photo isn't uploaded. Google Play services downloads the cut-out model to your phone the first time it's needed.
Faces show the time, date, battery, heart rate, steps and weather, and the companion reacts to them. These values are read and drawn by your watch's own watch face system, on the watch; the weather is the forecast your watch already has. Anime Studio's apps don't read, store or send them anywhere, and never ask for your location.
When you tap apply, your phone builds the face (including any pictures it uses) and sends it to your paired watch with the Wear OS Data Layer, part of Google Play services, over the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi link between your own devices. The watch app installs it with Wear OS's Watch Face Push and keeps your five most recent faces so you can switch between them. The phone and watch also tell each other which face is on your wrist.
The one-time unlock is sold through Google Play. Google handles the payment and your payment details under the Google Payments privacy notice; we never see them. The app only asks Google Play whether you own the unlock and remembers the answer on your phone so it works offline.
The app relies on Google Play services (the Data Layer between phone and watch, and ML Kit's model delivery) and Google Play Billing. As part of running these, Google may process technical data such as device and app identifiers and diagnostics, under the Google Privacy Policy. ML Kit may also send Google anonymous metrics about how its on-device features perform. We don't receive this data.
There are no permissions for your location, contacts, camera, microphone or files.
Everything stays on your devices until you remove it. Deleting a face removes it and the pictures only it used. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes everything from your phone; uninstalling the watch app removes the faces kept on your watch. Since we hold no copy, there's nothing on our side to delete, but you're welcome to write to us with any data request.
Anime Studio isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.
Your data sits in app-private storage that other apps can't read. Faces travel between your phone and watch only over their paired connection, and each face is signed before it's installed.
If the app's data handling changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves.
